Repo Roundup
Chrissy LeMaire opened the most important issue of the week on Friday: dbatools is staying free, open source, and MIT-licensed. Devolutions is funding dbatools.pro, a separate commercial product built on top of dbatools, and building it is now her full-time job. The repo already shows what that means, with 38 pushes and nine issues closed since. After dbatools 2.9.0 and mssqlsuite v2, that’s three straight weeks of news from her. 👉 https://github.com/dataplat/dbatools/issues/10740
Merill Fernando started four repos on Monday: learn-mirror, plus mirrors of the Entra, Defender, and Intune docs rebuilt from Microsoft Learn with one commit per change. The Entra mirror’s README says it stands in for MicrosoftDocs/entra-docs “for when that repository stops being public.” If you rely on git history to see what changed in the docs, star these now. Fabian Bader already did. 👉 https://github.com/merill/learn-mirror
Maester 2.3 is close. Merill opened the release post PR today and four previews went out the same day. Nathan McNulty landed retries for transient Graph 500s and 502s and a fallback for when PIM rejects the license, and Fabian Bader merged HTML encoding for Send-MtMail. Three roster members in one repo in one week. 👉 https://github.com/maester365/maester/pull/2288
Doug Finke released PSAISuite v0.9.0 on Monday and v0.9.1 on Tuesday. 0.9.0 adds New-AgentHarness -Prompt and an interactive agent mode, and 0.9.1 fixes Anthropic thinking-token exhaustion. Two releases in two days. 👉 https://github.com/dfinke/psaisuite/releases/tag/v0.9.1
Doug also made PSAIPerplexityDecisions public today and started PSAICloudflareClef alongside it. Same idea as Jev last week, typed yes/no, choice, and score questions that return structured decisions, now against Perplexity and Cloudflare back ends. He’s building one decisions module per provider, and Jev itself got submitted to three awesome-jev lists. 👉 https://github.com/dfinke/PSAIPerplexityDecisions
Gilbert Sanchez shipped PSDepend 0.6.0 yesterday with NuGet version ranges for Chocolatey dependencies, then opened a PR for npm-style lock files with transitive resolution. Update-PSDependLock writes a requirements.lock.json so every machine installs the same versions. Lock files are the thing PSDepend never had. He also kept the PSKoans streak alive with the Show-Karma fix. 👉 https://github.com/PowerShellOrg/PSDepend/pull/203
Steve Lee opened a DSC PR on Friday that adds a new Actions kind of resource, with dsc action list and server APIs to invoke them. Last week was post-3.3.0 cleanup, this week is the next big thing. Michał Machniak opened docs for the Windows Update resource the same day. 👉 https://github.com/PowerShell/DSC/pull/1734
Jake Hildreth built Vixel, a terminal app for drawing pixel art with vim-style controls, and merged eight PRs into it this week. He also finished porting ttf2flf from a PowerShell module to a C# tool on Tuesday, then opened and closed more than thirty issues against it. Stepper got a script integrity lifecycle too. Easily the busiest feed on the roster. 👉 https://github.com/jakehildreth/Vixel
Michael Grafnetter’s OktaHound 2.9.0 from last week turned out to be the final release. The tool is deprecated in favor of the OpenHound Okta collector. 👉 https://github.com/SpecterOps/openhound-okta
Nathan McNulty opened five PRs on XDRInternals, led by a read-only MCP server with 21 bounded Defender portal reads. He also merged 21 PRs into defender-reporting, 30 into research-passkeys, and five into azd-santa, the Santa template from last week. 👉 https://github.com/MSCloudInternals/XDRInternals/pull/134
Fred Weinmann took EntraAuth.Azure from 1.1.5 to 1.1.10 yesterday, adding Get-EaaRoleAssignment, New-EaaRoleAssignment, and Search-EaaGraph. InformationProtection got three version bumps Friday for -LiteralPath support. And the DuckDB work from last week showed up somewhere useful: he fixed a DuckDB memory leak in zerotrustassessment. 👉 https://github.com/FriedrichWeinmann/EntraAuth.Azure
Jos Lieben pushed AzCmply to 1.0.6 a week after making it public, shipped M365AutoLink 1.5.0 today with sync budgets, and started LiebenToolkit. Fourth week on the roster, fourth week of output. 👉 https://github.com/jflieben/AzCmply
Aleksandar Nikolić reported that Microsoft.Graph.Authentication fails after you remove and re-import it in the same PowerShell session. Worth knowing before the SDK’s 2.41.0 lands. He also spent the week reviewing zerotrustassessment PRs. 👉 https://github.com/microsoftgraph/msgraph-sdk-powershell/issues/3805
Tyler Leonhardt closed a long-standing VS Code request today: multiple GitHub Enterprise servers at once. The new github-enterprise.uris setting takes a list of instances and he says it ships in 1.141. 👉 https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/277435
Marc-André Moreau reworked copilot-resources into a plugin that runs GitHub Copilot CLI from Claude Code, Codex, and now Cursor through shared PowerShell 7 bridges. Eight PRs merged since Monday, plus two PRs upstream to Turso. 👉 https://github.com/awakecoding/copilot-resources
